Free career guide has been made accessible online for new graduates and jobseekers at the newly-launched GMA (Greater Modular Access) Jobs Center kiosks now operational in key malls and local government units nationwide.
This online career guide will broaden relevant information on highly in-demand but hard to fill occupations, and increase the access to opportunities for Filipino jobseekers. With valuable career guidance information for free in the Internet, jobs and skills mismatch can be further mitigated to improve the opportunities for Filipinos specially the youth.
The guide covers the in-demand occupations identified during the DOLE-led National Human Resource Conference in 2007. They are: accountant, aircraft mechanic, animator, architect, barista, bartender, CAD operator, call center agent, caregiver, chef, civil engineer, commercial airline pilot, computer programmer, cook, dietician, electrical engineer, geologist, heavy equipment mechanic, heavy equipment operator, hotel reservations officer, massage therapist, mechanical engineer, medical technologist, medical transcriptionist, metallurgical engineer, mining engineer, nursing assistant, physical therapist, optometrist, pharmacist, physical therapist, professional nurse, receptionist, retail salesperson, room attendant, software engineer, surveyor, telemarketer, tour guide, travel agent, waiter/waitress, welding and metal fabricator.
