Send Free SMS via Email Anywhere in the World

MegaMobile, the wireless services subsidiary of publicly listed IPVG Corp., announced the launch of its newest Free SMS Messaging service called Mail2Mobile (M2M).

Anyone with email address can now send text messages directly from their email to any mobile subscriber of Globe and Smart networks. Messaging to Sun Cellular subscribers will also be made available by January 2009.

The M2M service is easy as sending email. Users need not register nor download any application. To send an SMS, simply type in <mobile number>@m2m.ph (i.e. 092088812342@m2m.ph) in the email recipient box (“To:”), write the message and send; just like any regular email. The message is then forwarded as an SMS to the recipient’s mobile phone.

Recipients can respond by simply replying as they would to any regular SMS. Their messages are then forwarded to the source email address. Likewise, with M2M, mobile subscribers can now send SMS messages to any email address. Mobile users simply text in M2M <email address> <message> (i.e. M2M bisayantek@gmail.com Hi! How r u? and send to 2948 for Globe, Smart and Sun networks.

The service is very timely. M2M will help Filipinos save on costs while continuing to keep in touch with their loved ones here and abroad. M2M messaging from emails is free while messages from mobile phone are charged a minimal fee of P2.50 per message.
