Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)
The Government of the Republic of the Philippines has started the implementation of the Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) through the assistance of the Government of Japan for Japanese Fiscal Year 2002.
The objective of the JDS Project is to provide the Philippine nationals with opportunities for obtaining master’s degree at the Japanese universities in order to support human resource development policy of the Government of the Philippines, and eventually to extend and strengthen the bilateral relationships between the Philippines and Japan. The JDS Project targets young government employee who are expected to play leadership roles in the Philippines.

Qualification Requirements
* A Filipino Citizen;
* Below 40 years old as of April 1, 2010; (Those who were born on/after April 2, 1970)
* Civilian government employee, permanent status, ahs has 2 years of work experience in the public sector at the time of application;
* Has a performance rating of at least “very satisfactory” at the time of application;
* Has a bachelor’s degree relevant to the target fields except for ICT field, which applicants should have bachelor’s degree in ICT or equivalent; and
* Has not been awarded foreign scholarship for Master’s degree
Selection Procedures
First Selection:
Documentation Screening by Accepting Universities
Second Selection:
English Examination (IELTS), Math Test
Third Selection:
Technical Interview by professors of Accepting Universities
Fourth Selection
Comprehensive Interview by Operating Committee members of JDS project
Where & When to Submit
Application Documents must be submitted either personally, by mail or courier to JICE IDS Project not later than 16:30 hrs or 4:30 pm on October 15, 2009.
