British Council Searching for Filipino Young Screen Entrepreneur

Filipino young screen entrepreneur can now conquer the world. The British Council Philippines in cooperation with Studio 23, Shangri-La Plaza Mall and NU 107 is looking for a talented young screen entrepreneur to represent the Philippines in an international competition in the UK.

The Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) awards were devised by the British Council’s Creative Economy Unit to celebrate their achievements and develop the potential of young creative entrepreneurs across the world.

Previous participants have included Ani Almario of Adarna Publishing, Jay Aldeguer of Island Souvenirs Cebu, and Louie Talan of Wombworks Inc.

The annual awards are open to young creative entrepreneurs between 25-35 years old from the countries of emerging economies. The winner from the Philippines will be sent on a 10-day all expenses paid trip to the UK where he/she will meet industry professionals and get the chance to tour leading organizations in the film and TV industries in London, Bristoll and Cardiff. The UK trip culminates with the Philippine representative attending the London Film Festival as industry delegate.

The winners of the UK competition will receive grant money of GBP 7,500 to be used on a collaborative project with the British Council. The deadline of submission of applications is on July 11.
