Speechpower Anniversary Free Lecture Series

SPEECHPOWER, the country’s top communication training center will conduct free lecture series this October in celebration on its 37t anniversary.

Consistent with its vision to empower the modern Filipino by teaching effective communication and by advocating the right use of the power of positive speech, Speechpower conducts its much-anticipated lecture series. It offers an opportunity to the general public to discover anew the power of communication.

The lectures are for free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Speechpower’s founder and president Dr. Jose M. Mordeno, Jr. and Speechpower senior consultants are expected to give attendees a peek into the methodologies and techniques that brought the center to the forefront of making Filipinos globally competitive.

Green Charcoal An Answer to Rising Cost of Cooking Fuel

Filipinos may have found an answer to the rising cost of cooking fuel. The product, green charcoal is cheap, energy-efficient, safe to use and environment-friendly. This alternative to LPG frees users from the danger of explosion that usually results to death.

The green charcoal technology involves a process of converting wastes into green charcoal in the form of fire logs, pellets and briquettes. It opens a wide opportunity of organic cooking.

Green charcoal reduces indoor pollution and promotes healthy cooking. On the other hand, studies on LPG reveal frequent exposure to LPG/nitrogen dioxide induces respiratory problems by attacking the mucus membranes of the lungs, decreases brain activity and interferes with the flow of oxygen. LPG, studies also reveals, causes oxidation and unsaturated fatty acids and cell membranes to form highly active free radicals that alters protein structure.

Green charcoal reduces dependency on imported cooking fuel, thus save millions of dollar. It helps prevent forest destruction as it reduces use of wood charcoal. The long-term result of this technology is a sustainable, alternative and eco-friendly charcoal industry that generates jobs in the countryside.

Instead of the usual practice of burning forest waster, farmers now gather them, take them to a pick up station and exchange for cash.
